Overview

As WestJet continues to evolve and expand, we're seeking a highly motivated Digital Marketing/Channel Strategist to join our Paid Media Marketing and Commercial team. This role demands a dynamic individual who thrives in an agile environment and possesses a strong performance-oriented approach.

You will play a crucial part in our Paid Media Marketing team, contributing your analytical thinking and competitive drive to help us achieve revenue targets. Our team is responsible for executing the strategic marketing plan across all paid media activities, including establishing revenue goals, forecasting performance, and providing comprehensive reporting.

WestJet is dedicated to delivering exceptional digital experiences for our guests. As a Digital Marketing/Channel Strategist, you will provide essential support in the day-to-day execution of our marketing programs. This involves coordinating with key stakeholders to ensure timely delivery of assets across all channels and collaborating closely with both internal and external partners to launch campaigns effectively and address any issues that arise.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Execute paid digital marketing campaigns, focusing on paid social media, display/programmatic advertising, and traditional marketing channels to support digital initiatives. Your primary goal will be to drive qualified traffic to our platforms.
  • Assist Channel Leads in managing all creative and trafficking requests, ensuring seamless campaign execution.
  • Collaborate closely with creative teams to develop high-quality assets and continuously refine our toolkit by leveraging best practices and insights gained from previous campaigns.
  • Support Channel Leads in implementing ongoing test & learn plans to optimize campaign performance and identify new opportunities for growth.
  • Assist Channel Leads with budget management and target setting, ensuring efficient allocation of resources and alignment with overall marketing objectives.
  • Continuously monitor campaign performance and analyze data to identify areas for optimization and improvement.
  • Work closely with our media agency and cross-functional teams, including Data & Analytics, Regional/Brand/Product Marketing, to achieve shared marketing goals.
  • Proactively contribute to the enhancement and troubleshooting of media-related processes to ensure efficiency and effectiveness.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or diploma in Marketing, Communications, Digital Media, or a related field.
  • Proven experience (2+ years) in a relevant discipline (Marketing, Communications, Digital, or eCommerce), ideally within a retail/digital environment with experience collaborating with agencies on digital advertising campaigns across channels such as display, programmatic, video, paid search, and paid social.
  • Working knowledge of digital platforms like DV360, Facebook Ads Manager, and Google Analytics.
  • Demonstrated passion for understanding the evolving media landscape, particularly in digital media and creative trends.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, goal-oriented, and relationship-building skills.
  • Strong project management and communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • A highly energetic team player with a meticulous attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in understanding return on marketing investment (ROI), analyzing campaign data, and measuring success metrics.
