Senior Customs & Trade Advisor

JOB SUMMARY

Offer expert consultation services to Livingston clients and others on a wide range of Customs Process matters, including Tariff Classification, NAFTA Compliance, Customs Valuation, Appeals and Dispute Resolution, Refunds, Machinery Remission, Drawbacks, Sales and Excise Taxes (related to Customs), Seizure Appeals, Entry Audits, Anti-Dumping, and other pertinent topics.

KEY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Engage with clients and non-clients through meetings, calls, or written communication regarding all aspects of customs laws and regulations, whether current, new, or proposed. This includes providing advice and representation on appeals at various levels.
  • Develop and present seminars and create informative articles on topics of interest to the importing community.
  • Identify opportunities to enhance the visibility of the Livingston Consulting Group and promote it as a leader in customs consulting services.
  • Drive new revenue generation for the organization.
  • Oversee, plan, and direct client projects and initiatives.
  • Manage comprehensive human resources functions for staff, including team building, training, development, and succession planning.
  • Assist in crafting sales and marketing strategies.
  • Support the forecasting and budgeting processes for the compliance division.
  • Prepare consulting proposals for potential clients.
  • Deliver presentations on business development opportunities to prospective clients.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by management.
  • Adhere to established policies and procedures.
KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication and presentation skills.
  • Demonstrated sound judgment.
  • Ability to attract and retain clients while generating revenue; self-motivated.
  • Thorough understanding of customs regulations and relevant legislation.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
