Salary: $24.10 to $30.12 per hour (commensurate with experience and in line with UHN compensation policies)
Shifts: Weekend Days (with additional weekday shifts as required)
Status: Permanent Part-Time

Role Summary
As an Administrative Assistant II within the Joint Department of Medical Imaging (JDMI) at UHN, you will play a vital role in facilitating communication between healthcare providers and the medical imaging team. With over 750,000 examinations conducted annually, JDMI is recognized for its commitment to clinical excellence, leveraging advanced digital technologies and a dedicated team of over 700 staff and 90 specialized radiologists.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Coordinating communication between referring physicians and medical imaging personnel.
  • Conveying critical findings and discrepancies to referring physicians.
  • Locating radiologists as per the schedule and providing insights on medical imaging procedures.
  • Assisting in the arrangement of bookings and managing various reception duties.
  • Responding to physician inquiries and managing a high volume of telephone communications.
Qualifications
  • Completion of Grade 12 or equivalent.
  • Graduation from a recognized business post-secondary medical secretarial arts program at the diploma level.
  • Proficiency in MS Office applications, including Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Word.
  • Strong judgment and decision-making capabilities.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills.
  • Comprehensive understanding of medical terminology.
  • Familiarity with medical imaging procedures and their indications.
  • Outstanding verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to perform well under pressure and make sound judgments in challenging situations.
  • Thorough knowledge of healthcare organizational practices and standards.
  • Utilization of advanced functions for word processing and document preparation.
  • Development and maintenance of electronic and paper filing systems.
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Exceptional organizational and time management skills complemented by strong interpersonal and customer service abilities.
