About the Role

We are a leading energy infrastructure business seeking a skilled professional to join our team as a Strategic Marketing Specialist. As a key member of our team, you will play a critical role in driving business growth and development through effective marketing strategies.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement netback strategies to drive volume to our owned assets through competitive pricing proposals
  • Evaluate business and market opportunities, including conducting full analysis and proposing solutions as required
  • Negotiate and administer crude oil purchase contracts to ensure timely and accurate payment to producers
  • Collaborate with industry producers and oil marketers to develop and maintain strong relationships
  • Identify new potential customers and develop strategies to engage with them
  • Provide competitive intelligence in various drilling areas located in the WCSB
  • Stay up-to-date on market trends and infrastructure developments in Western Canada
  • Work closely with traders to understand market opportunities and develop strategies to capitalize on them
  • Assist with contract management to ensure accurate reflection of expected terms
  • Conduct volume analysis to identify losses and new opportunities for growth
  • Identify and mitigate risks to our business areas
  • Collaborate with other business units to optimize efforts and maximize revenues

Requirements

  • Post-secondary degree in a related field, such as Business, Finance, or Economics
  • 3-5 years of experience in marketing or a related field, preferably in the energy industry
  • Working knowledge of WCSB infrastructure and North American Crude Oil markets
  • High proficiency in Microsoft Office and strong modeling capabilities
  • Strong communication and negotiation skills
  • Ability to think strategically and solve complex problems
