Job Title: Occupational Therapist

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Occupational Therapist to join our multidisciplinary team at SMART Rehabilitation Consulting Ltd. As an Occupational Therapist, you will play a vital role in providing community-based rehabilitation services to individuals in the Kamloops region.

Job Summary:

The successful candidate will be responsible for assessing patient needs, developing and implementing occupational therapy treatment plans, and providing education and support to patients and their families. You will work collaboratively with other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive care and support.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assess patient home, mobility, daily function, and workplace
  • Develop and implement occupational therapy treatment plans and services
  • Liaise with other treating medical and rehabilitation practitioners
  • Develop plans for patients with ongoing pain and chronic conditions
  • Recommend and educate patients on medical and adaptive equipment
  • Record patient activities, progress, and improvement
  • Maintain clinical records of all patient care; fill and document for insurance billing
  • Develop a discharge plan and make referrals for additional resources
Requirements:
  • Master's degree in occupational therapy or equivalent
  • Eligible to register with the College of Occupational Therapists of BC
  • Valid driver's license and reliable vehicle
  • Prior experience working in private practice or long-term care settings (an asset)
