About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Kitchen Assistant at Whispers of Hope Benevolence Association. As a key member of our food service team, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our kitchen and providing exceptional service to our clients.

Responsibilities
  • Cleaning and Sanitation: Clear and clean tables, trays, and chairs, and sanitize and wash dishes and other items by hand.
  • Food Preparation: Package take-out food, portion and wrap foods, and use manual and electrical appliances to clean, peel, slice, and trim foodstuffs.
  • Kitchen Maintenance: Clean and sanitize the kitchen, including work surfaces, cupboards, storage areas, appliances, and equipment.
  • Inventory Management: Handle and store cleaning products, remove kitchen garbage and trash, and maintain stock rotation.
  • Customer Service: Serve food and beverages, and record transactions.
  • Food Safety: Prepare and serve nutritious meals, and enforce regulations to maintain order and resolve conflicts.
Requirements
  • Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate.
  • Experience: 2 years to less than 3 years of experience in a similar role.
  • Certifications: Safe Food Handling certificate.
Work Environment

This is a fast-paced environment with repetitive tasks, standing for extended periods, and working under pressure. The ideal candidate will be able to lift up to 13.5 kg (30 lbs) and work in a team-oriented setting.
