Job Summary

We are seeking a highly qualified Professor to join our team at Algonquin College. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching courses in the Computer Programming program within the School of Advanced Technology.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design, revise, and update courses in consultation with program and course administrators, faculty members, and advisory committees.
  • Evaluate and validate learning outcomes, and specify and approve learning approaches, resources, and educational technologies.
  • Teach assigned courses, including delivery of regularly scheduled instruction, working with teaching teams, and providing tutoring and academic advising.
  • Provide academic leadership, including guidance to students, instructors, and part-time professors, and participating in curriculum and consultative committees.
Requirements
  • Ontario College Advanced Diploma in Computer Programming or a related discipline/field, or equivalent.
  • Minimum two years of teaching experience, or equivalent, preferably in a postsecondary setting.
  • Minimum five years of practical experience related to the field of study, including experience with multiple programming languages, network programming, and database management systems.
  • Applicable programming and/or database management systems certifications are considered assets.
