Job SummaryWe are seeking a highly motivated Investment Analyst to join our team. As an Investment Analyst, you will be responsible for conducting fundamental research to identify investment opportunities, performing detailed company analysis, and contributing to the portfolio construction and overall investment management process.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct fundamental research to identify investment opportunities in the banking industry
- Perform detailed company analysis, including building financial projection models on securities owned or under consideration as an investment
- Conduct management interviews and establish relationships with senior management of companies under their areas of responsibility
- Develop investment thesis and present recommendations to the portfolio manager and research team
- Monitor companies within the portfolio to assess how the investment thesis is playing out and re-evaluate recommendations proactively according to conviction levels
- Minimum of three to five years of relevant experience in investment analysis or a related field
- University degree in Finance, Engineering, or a related area; graduate studies, an asset
- Enrollment or completion of the CFA program, an asset
- Reasonable understanding of financial markets and products
- Ability to innovate and move ideas forward with an entrepreneurial mindset
- Strong communicator with an ability to simplify complex concepts
- Self-starter, independent learner with intellectual curiosity and willingness to develop deep expertise in one or multiple areas
- Quick learner with an eagerness to work in a highly collaborative, cross-asset class team in a high-performing culture
- Independent thinker with a conceptual thinking aptitude who can work autonomously as well as with a diverse team, and who exhibits strong problem-solving skills
- Excellent analytical skills with an ability to collect, organize, and process a variety of data sets
- Experience with data visualization, with an ability to use graphics and high-quality charts and graphs to present findings in a clear and concise way
- Flexibility to travel
- Bilingual (French and English)
