Summary of Role:
The Process Supervisor plays a crucial role in overseeing, coordinating, and evaluating production line operations to ensure adherence to established standards concerning quality, cost, productivity, safety, sanitation, and employee skill levels. This position involves providing critical insights and follow-up regarding overall product conditions, including specifications compliance, equipment issues, packaging materials, raw product challenges, and production schedules to optimize efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage overall shift production through collaboration with subordinate supervisors, foremen, and team leads.
- Coordinate effectively with the Agricultural scheduler and shift supervisors to optimize raw product utilization.
- Collaborate with the Quality Assurance Manager to ensure that the final product meets quality benchmarks and customer expectations.
- Work alongside the Sanitation Supervisor to uphold plant sanitation and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs).
- Partner with Maintenance to ensure equipment operates efficiently and foster teamwork between departments.
- Promote a culture of safety by ensuring compliance with safety policies and procedures, actively participating in health and safety initiatives aimed at achieving zero incidents.
- Administer supervisory duties in alignment with organizational policies and relevant laws.
- Assist in the preparation, execution, review, and follow-up of audits.
- Propose strategies for enhancing employee productivity.
- Oversee staffing and development of personnel within respective shifts.
- Collaborate closely with other Shift Supervisors and the Production Manager to meet production targets and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) efficiently.
- Ensure compliance with all HACCP guidelines, rules, and regulations throughout the food production process, including accurate documentation.
- Manage the performance evaluation system for employees, including performance reviews, coaching, and necessary disciplinary actions.
- Encourage a continuous improvement mindset by supporting Lean Sigma principles and Management by Daily Improvement (MDI) events.
- Perform miscellaneous related duties as assigned, which may include conducting test runs on new or existing products and investigating incidents.
Required Qualifications:
- A minimum of five years of supervisory experience, preferably in a manufacturing setting.
- A degree or diploma in a relevant field (Agriculture, Engineering, Business, Food Science) is preferred.
- An equivalent combination of experience and educational qualifications will be considered.
- Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively through strong time management and organizational skills.
- Demonstrated leadership, reasoning, and judgment skills necessary for effective planning and execution.
Physical Requirements:
- Regularly required to walk, talk, and hear; occasionally required to use hands for handling objects and controls; may need to climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
- Must be able to lift and/or move up to 10 pounds regularly and up to 50 pounds occasionally. Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
Work Environment:
- Regular exposure to moving mechanical parts; frequent exposure to wet or humid conditions, fumes, airborne particles, and toxic or caustic chemicals; occasional exposure to high places, outdoor weather conditions, extreme temperatures, electrical hazards, and vibrations. The noise level in the work environment is typically very loud.
