Role Responsibilities:
As a Community Health Worker, you will collaborate with a dynamic team of Nurses and LPNs to support the independence of Community Clients, enabling them to remain in their homes. Community Health Workers deliver home support services, assisting with personal care and daily living activities while promoting maximum independence. You will play a crucial role in the home health care plan for each client.

Key Duties Include:
  1. Providing daily personal care activities, including bathing, dressing, grooming, and oral hygiene
  2. Performing household tasks to maintain a safe and healthy home environment
  3. Preparing meals according to established plans
  4. Assisting with mobility and transfers
  5. Observing and reporting changes in client behavior and condition
  6. Executing delegated tasks in accordance with training and established procedures
This is a CASUAL OPPORTUNITY, meaning hours are not guaranteed and may vary, with shifts potentially scheduled on short notice. Casual employees are eligible to apply for internal postings, including permanent and temporary positions. Many opportunities within Interior Health begin with casual employment and can lead to regular positions.

Work shifts will be scheduled for days and evenings, rotating from 07:00 to 15:00 and 14:00 to 22:00.

Qualifications:
  1. Completion of Grade 12
  2. Graduation from a recognized Resident Care Aide/Home Support Worker Program, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and relevant experience
  3. BC Care Aide and Community Health Worker registry (please include your number)
  4. Current valid BC Driver's License and access to a reliable vehicle
