Astellas Pharma Canada (APCA) is currently seeking a Platform Engineer, Enterprise Platforms.
Role Overview
As a Platform Engineer within a specialized team, you will play a key role in advancing our digital initiatives within our agile organization. Our agile model consists of two main components—Digital Capability and Digital Execution. Digital Execution focuses on aligning various missions with business objectives and facilitating broader collaboration, while Digital Capability emphasizes the growth and development of individuals within specific areas of expertise. This dual structure allows us to efficiently scale agile practices while maintaining a focus on product development and individual skill enhancement.
An Enterprise Business Platforms Engineer is responsible for the development, deployment, and integration of software platforms that underpin our business processes and operations. This role requires a combination of technical expertise, business insight, and a comprehensive understanding of the platforms that drive critical business functions such as CRM (Customer Relationship Management), ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning), and SCM (Supply Chain Management). The objective is to optimize these platforms to support business goals, enhance operational efficiency, and drive growth.

Key Responsibilities
- Platform Development and Configuration: Design, develop, and configure business platforms tailored to our organization's specific needs, which may include programming, configuring settings, and integrating various software solutions.
- System Integration: Ensure seamless integration between different business platforms and systems to enhance data flow and streamline business processes.
- Performance Monitoring and Optimization: Regularly assess the performance of business platforms, identify bottlenecks, and implement optimizations to enhance efficiency and user experience.
- User Support and Training: Provide technical support to platform users, resolve issues, and conduct training sessions to ensure effective utilization of the platforms.
- Initiative Execution: Actively participate in various initiatives, applying your specialized skills to achieve objectives and deliver expected value. Contribute to the ongoing realization of value from these enterprise platforms through continuous integration and deployment.
- Collaboration: Work collaboratively with team members within the subdivision and across other digital and business units.
- Continuous Learning: Engage in ongoing learning and professional development to stay updated on the latest trends and technologies in your area of expertise.
- Innovation: Contribute innovative ideas and approaches to enhance project outcomes and digital capabilities.
- Reporting: Regularly report on the progress of various value teams and outcomes to your Capability Lead and team members.
- Problem-Solving: Utilize analytical and problem-solving skills to address project challenges and deliver effective solutions.
- Quality Assurance: Ensure the highest quality and consistency in the work delivered.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or a related STEM field.
- 7+ years of progressive experience in ECC, S/4HANA, HANA DB, and related technologies.
- Experience with full life cycle migration, SAP upgrades, and installations across various environments.
- Proven experience in knowledge transfer, coaching, and building technical teams.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
- Hands-on experience with SAP HANA Appliance monitoring and administration.
- Familiarity with cloud services and integration of SAP SaaS solutions.
Working Environment:
- This position is remote and is based in Canada.
