Job Summary

The Business/Financial Initiatives Analyst is responsible for providing internal departments with financial support and analysis. The incumbent will lead clients through business case creation and evaluation, conduct cost-benefit analyses, and gather data to inform business decisions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Business Case Development: Lead clients through the creation and evaluation of business cases, ensuring that financial and operational data is accurately analyzed and presented.
  • Financial Analysis: Conduct cost-benefit analyses for large-scale utility software projects, evaluating financial and operational data to propose optimizations for cost savings, technology enhancements, and operational improvements.
  • Data Analysis: Gather data by leading and/or participating in business case workshop sessions with clients and vendors, understanding prioritization of use cases by the client and their regulator, and presenting options and recommendations for the final outcome.
  • Research and Analysis: Conduct research and analysis on economic data/trends and advise management on business implications and forecasting impacts.
  • Presentation and Communication: Prepare and lead compelling presentations to clients and their business, finance, and executive teams, explaining financial metrics to non-financial audiences in accessible terms.
Requirements
  • Education: Post-secondary degree in Finance, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related discipline.
  • Experience: 2 years' experience in financial modeling, budgeting, and financial reporting, with knowledge of statistical analysis, economic analysis, and business analytics.
  • Skills: Advanced verbal and written communication skills, advanced Microsoft Excel skills, and advanced financial management and reporting skills.
