Position Overview
Clinical Nurse Educator, Reactivation Care Centre:
In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for promoting clinical excellence and ensuring outstanding experiences for patients and their families within the Reactivation Care Centre. Collaborating closely with the Clinical Team Manager and Nurse Practitioners, you will help cultivate a high-performance team dedicated to delivering safe and quality care. Your leadership will foster a professional and supportive work environment for staff, physicians, and volunteers through advocacy for best practices, policy development, and mentorship.
You will engage in various committees and project teams to implement leading practices in gerontological interprofessional care. Working alongside fellow Clinical Nurse Educators, you will promote patient-centered care, contribute to clinically relevant research, and develop innovative educational programs tailored to this specialized patient demographic. Your expertise in nursing, combined with your effective communication and organizational skills, will be vital in achieving desired outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and implement educational initiatives to enhance collaboration across the organization, addressing the educational needs of nursing staff and clinical team members.
- Evaluate research literature and apply evidence-based practices to improve patient care.
- Partner with the Director of Interprofessional Practice to create educational opportunities that support clinical staff competency and knowledge expansion.
- Collaborate with nursing staff and interdisciplinary teams to assess and define skill set requirements and scope of practice.
- Develop and evaluate innovative programs for specific patient populations in a collaborative healthcare team environment.
- Promote an atmosphere of patient and family-centered care and inter-professional collaboration.
- Plan and execute simulation-based learning and assessment programs to meet the educational needs of nursing staff and clinical team members.
Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (B.Sc.N.) required; Master’s degree in a related field is preferred or in progress.
- Current registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario in good standing.
- Certification in Gerontology from the Canadian Nurses Association is preferred.
- Certification in Gentle Persuasive Approaches is preferred.
- A minimum of five years of acute care nursing experience is required.
- Recent experience in Adult Education is preferred.
- Ability to work effectively with diverse populations, demonstrating respect for cultural differences.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite is necessary.
- Additional language proficiency is an asset.

This is a Full-Time Temporary position (9 months) with 8-hour day shifts in the Reactivation Care Centre.
