Implementation Scientist

We are seeking an Implementation Scientist to join our team at IWK Health. This is a unique opportunity to be fully embedded in our organization and contribute to the development of our evaluation culture.
The Implementation Scientist will work closely with our programs and services to co-design, relevant research and evaluation, applied directly to the context in which solutions will be adopted. This will enable us to facilitate successful implementation and improve health and care for our service users.
Implementation Science is a multidisciplinary field that strives to improve population health by studying different methods and strategies to promote the uptake of interventions into practice and policy. The discipline uses both qualitative and quantitative methodologies to identify the best ways to embed research that is equitable and sustainable.
We are looking for an individual with a PhD in a health-related field, a post-doctoral record of research productivity, and a minimum of five years' experience in the science and practice of Implementation Science in healthcare. The successful candidate will have experience in conducting collaborative implementation research, building capacity in the science and practice of implementation, and applying implementation science theories, models, and frameworks.
The Implementation Scientist will be expected to work collaboratively with our team, including policy makers, researchers, healthcare administrators, clinicians, and patients/families. The successful candidate will have strong leadership, mentor, and team building skills, as well as excellent communication skills to positively influence change and support the change management process.

Key Responsibilities- Conduct collaborative implementation research with various interested parties, including policy makers, researchers, healthcare administrators, clinicians, and patients/families.
- Build capacity in the science and practice of implementation, including assessing what works, for whom, and under what circumstances, and how interventions can be adapted/implemented and scaled up in ways that are effective, safe, accessible, and equitable.
- Apply implementation science theories, models, and frameworks to identify factors that help or hinder the adoption and sustainability of health interventions.
- Conduct and report knowledge synthesis, including pragmatic trials, randomized controlled trials, interrupted time series, and process evaluations.
- Collaborate with and advise faculty/students, and manage an interdisciplinary team.
- Develop and implement strategies to promote the uptake of interventions into practice and policy.
- PhD in a health-related field.
