Position Overview

Interior Health is seeking a Casual Contract Management Specialist to support their operations.

This role operates during weekdays from 08:00 to 16:00.

This is a Casual position, which means there are no guaranteed hours, and work demands may fluctuate weekly. Many of our employees begin their careers in casual roles, which can lead to permanent or temporary positions.

Key Responsibilities

In this capacity, you will engage with Program Managers, Ministry of Health Services, and various stakeholders regarding all facets of contract oversight.


Your duties will include:

  • Offering insights and recommendations related to contract oversight and relevant policies;
  • Analyzing contracts for staff, ministries, and external contractors;
  • Coordinating and supervising the compliance of all service provider contracts;
  • Preparing and submitting applications for the Master insurance program;
  • Developing and maintaining the service provider contract database;
  • Processing journal entries for contract accruals and necessary adjustments;
  • Generating and reconciling summary reports for contracts;
  • Educating staff on the use of contract templates and the overall contract process, along with other assigned tasks.

Qualifications
Education, Training & Experience

  • Grade 12 completion;
  • Successful attainment of a Diploma in Business or Accounting, plus
  • Three years of recent relevant contract experience in a complex computerized setting; or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience;
  • Familiarity with contract management and accounting practices.

Skills and Competencies:

  • Strong communication abilities.
  • Effective problem-solving skills.
  • Capability to collaborate as part of a team.
  • Ability to work independently while accepting guidance.
  • Proficiency in organizing and prioritizing tasks.
  • Competence in using software applications such as Excel, Meditech, Microsoft Word, Outlook, and the Ministry of Health's Information Management System.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise good judgment.
  • Flexibility in managing a variety of tasks and priorities.
