We operate in a multifaceted industry with business divisions that include metal recycling, decommissioning and demolition, auto-parts sales and recycling, manufacturing of solder assemblies, construction waste recycling, and production of customized industrial and mining products.
Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled Tax Compliance Specialist to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the compliance of our group companies with Canadian/US legislation regarding income tax and various taxes.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare tax returns for our Canadian companies.
- Calculate the annual tax provision of our group companies.
- Plan to optimize any tax benefits and/or credits for our companies and their shareholders.
- Provide support during tax audits by various levels of government.
- Ensure sales tax compliance for our companies.
- Ensure proper accounting of tax-related transactions.
Requirements
- CPA, CA designation and advanced training in taxation.
- At least 5 years' experience in a similar position in a company.
- Experience with CaseWare/Taxprep considered an asset.
- Organizational skills and ability to prioritize.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Excellent interpersonal skills.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Autonomous.
- Bilingualism (English and French) considered an asset.
