Core Responsibilities

  1. Lead comprehensive design processes, addressing challenges, collaborating with stakeholders, and pursuing optimal design solutions.
  2. Create, issue, and sustain Technical Data Packages (TDP) pertaining to primary (hull) and secondary structures (such as doors, hatches, grills, and armor).
  3. Prepare and deliver formal Design Review presentations.
  4. Ensure designs meet all specified requirements and maintain accountability for outcomes.
  5. Investigate and resolve production, supplier, or in-service issues, implementing corrective measures as necessary.
  6. Conduct preliminary structural analyses using tools like Simcenter (NX), SimSolid (Altair), or equivalent FEA software to inform design choices.
  7. Proactively identify opportunities for personal and team development.
  8. Maintain professional communication with all stakeholders involved.
  9. Oversee test planning, execution, and reporting activities.
  10. Manage task execution within defined scope, budget, schedule, and requirements.
  11. Identify and mitigate technical, scheduling, and budgetary risks.
  12. Recognize and lead continuous improvement initiatives as required.
  13. Support quality assurance and Root Cause Corrective Action (RCCA) activities as needed.
  14. Develop and uphold best practices, guidance documents, processes, and procedures.
  15. Engage with customers as necessary.
  16. Share innovative Independent Research and Development (IRAD) concepts with key stakeholders and assist in project execution as needed.
  17. Contribute to bidding and proposal efforts as requested.

Qualifications

  1. Bachelor's degree, College Diploma, or demonstrated exceptional capabilities in a relevant engineering field.
  2. 3 to 5 years of pertinent subject matter expertise.
  3. Excellent verbal and written communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
  4. Strong understanding of materials, structural analysis, and manufacturing processes.
  5. Experience with NX Unigraphics or comparable CAD software.
  6. Demonstrated project leadership experience.
  7. Willingness to travel (5% within Canada and 5% to the US & International) and possess or be able to obtain a valid passport.
  8. Ability to meet Anthropometrical Size Requirements for confined spaces.

Preferred Qualifications

  1. Familiarity with military vehicle specifications and standards.
  2. Hands-on experience in manufacturing.
  3. Engineering designation or the ability to obtain P. Eng designation.
  4. Proficiency with GDLS-C processes and products.
