Software Engineer in Test (Contract Role)

At Sony Interactive Entertainment Inc., we're committed to creating an inclusive environment that empowers employees and embraces diversity. We're looking for a talented Junior Quality Engineer to join our team and help us deliver high-quality software products that delight our customers.

Responsibilities:

  • Work in an Agile Scrum environment to support quality engineering activities in the payments space.
  • Collaborate with Senior QE and developers to build test plans for new functionality.
  • Design and implement automated test cases to ensure seamless software delivery.
  • Engage with globally distributed teams to provide continuous delivery of high-quality software products.
  • Lead the creation and maintenance of test regression and smoke test suites.
  • Act as a quality gate and provide release sign-off.

Qualifications:

  • BS or MS Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or related technical degree, or equivalent experience.
  • 2+ years' experience as an engineer in test.
  • Extensive hands-on technical expertise, including experience with Java.
  • Experience with all aspects of software test, including test planning, test automation, load test, failure mode test, etc.
  • Experience testing RESTful web services and web applications.
  • Experience working with build automation and continuous integration tools (e.g., Jenkins).
  • Experience with test automation frameworks (e.g., Selenium, Cucumber, etc.).
  • Experience with SQL/NoSQL and database schema designs.
  • Experience reviewing logs in Splunk or similar.
  • Ability to estimate effort and size of features.
  • Experience with agile development methodologies.
  • Experience using source control (esp. Git) and bug tracking systems in a team environment.

Nice to Have:

  • Experience with Selenium.
  • Experience as a Software Developer.
