The Role: HR Generalist (Full-time)

The HR Generalist plays a vital role within the People Services team, enhancing both employee experiences and supporting Program Managers throughout the employment lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities

Onboarding and Off-boarding
  • Facilitate onboarding processes to ensure a seamless experience for new hires, including managing documentation such as offer letters and benefits enrollment.
  • Oversee the administration of required employee screenings, ensuring timely follow-up with leaders.
  • Assist with the off-boarding process, ensuring accurate completion of employee departure entries and final pay details.
Human Resources Administration
  • Respond promptly to staff inquiries regarding data and documentation, including Confirmation of Employment letters.
  • Generate monthly reports to provide insights into recruitment and turnover metrics.
  • Manage HR inquiries, ensuring timely updates to employee records for payroll accuracy.
  • Conduct regular audits of employee data to maintain consistency and accuracy.
Staff Wellbeing & Disability/WCB Management
  • Communicate benefits programs and updates effectively to staff.
  • Coordinate all disability and Workers Compensation Board (WCB) claims, ensuring proper documentation and reporting.
  • Facilitate staff leave requests and provide guidance on relevant policies and legislation.
  • Manage the return-to-work process, including accommodations and modifications as necessary.
Employee Relations & Talent Management
  • Conduct investigations related to employee conflicts and recommend solutions.
  • Support managers in Performance Management processes.
  • Maintain accurate training records and certifications in line with accreditation standards.
  • Assist with the annual performance review process, ensuring timely communication and documentation.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of provincial employment legislation and best practices in Human Resources.
Qualifications
  • Education in Human Resources, Business, or Organizational Psychology; equivalent experience will also be considered.
  • Minimum of three years of experience in Human Resources.
  • CPHR certification or equivalent is advantageous.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and HR Information Systems.
  • Strong customer service and relationship-building skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills, with an understanding of inclusive language.
  • Collaborative approach to working with diverse groups.
  • High initiative and efficiency in handling sensitive and confidential information.
  • Clear Criminal Record Check with vulnerable sector search and Intervention Record Check.
