We are seeking a highly skilled GIS Analyst to join our team at the City of Vancouver. As a GIS Analyst, you will be responsible for investigating, analyzing, and developing GIS solutions to support our organization's strategic and operational goals.
Key Responsibilities- Elicit and analyze business requirements to design and develop GIS solutions
- Evaluate existing and proposed processes and systems to drive design and development of enhancements and new GIS solutions
- Configure and develop custom GIS solutions leveraging the City's ESRI platform
- Facilitate discussions with GIS users to identify challenges and develop procedures and standards
- Develop and implement strategies for encouraging data governance best practices and adoption of standards
- Provide technical assistance and support to GIS users
- Plan, document, and execute GIS solution implementation
- Estimate time and cost of research, analysis, and development activities
- Prepare and maintain detailed user and operations documentation
- Completion of university degree or college diploma in Computer Science, Information Technology, or GIS
- 3 years of experience with implementation and maintenance of ESRI GIS solutions
- 3 years of experience with SQL, Python, and FME scripting
- 3 years of experience with user engagement, requirements gathering, and change management
- Advanced skills in ESRI ArcGIS Pro and ArcGIS Enterprise
- Strong knowledge of ArcGIS Python API, Jupyter Notebooks, and Safe Software FME
- Ability to strategically answer complex business questions through data analysis and scenario modeling
- Ability to leverage strong analytical, technical, and troubleshooting skills to solve complex problems
