Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Electrical and Instrumentation Maintenance Engineer to support our headquarters in Calgary, AB as an Independent Contractor. The successful candidate will utilize their technical expertise to provide maintenance engineering support to operations, maintenance, and reliability engineering teams.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide electrical and instrumentation maintenance engineering support to terminals across Canada, with frequent travel to site required.
- Conduct root cause analysis and troubleshooting to identify and resolve technical issues.
- Collaborate with operations and maintenance teams to recover plant production and ensure smooth operations.
- Lead or participate in incident investigations to identify causes and implement corrective actions.
- Review equipment test results and advise on maintenance activities, repairs, or replacements.
- Develop and present engineering solutions for various plant issues, including risk analysis and mitigation.
- Prepare high-quality design packages and specifications for maintenance and capital projects.
- Check vendor drawings and data for compliance with specifications and standards.
- Develop and implement equipment end-of-life strategies and obsolescence plans.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from a Canadian University or equivalent.
- Professional Engineer (APEGA and/or PEO) registration.
- Strong technical skills and ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
- Ability to work in a team environment and adapt to changing priorities.
- Valid class 5 driver's license and eligibility to work permanently in Canada.
Work Location:
This is a site-based position with frequent travel to client distribution terminals required. Most work will take place in Ontario and Quebec.
