Job Title: Operations Officer

Join Saab Canada, Inc. as an Operations Officer and take on a challenging role that requires strategic leadership and operational expertise.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee the overall operations of our Halifax office and ensure the successful execution of all projects.
  • Formulate strategies for business success and growth, ensuring regulatory compliance and managing customer contracts.
  • Manage the entire or partial Saab product portfolio and other opportunities assigned by the President of Saab Canada, Inc.
  • Lead the project management office, ensuring all operations align with local laws, regulations, and company processes.
  • Identify and collaborate with industrial partners to strengthen Saab's market position through existing or new joint offers.
  • Meet and exceed business order intake, sales, and revenue targets, in line with set budgets.
  • Maintain and ensure compliance with customer safety and security regulations.
  • Manage spare stock and test equipment at the site in accordance with customer safety and security rules.
  • Stay up-to-date with relevant product knowledge and participate in contract and commercial negotiations.
  • Align with Saab's policies and directives while managing programs, contracts, and customer expectations.
Requirements:
  • Dynamic and strategic leader with a proven track record in operations management.
  • Adept at managing complex projects, driving business growth, and ensuring regulatory compliance.
  • Bachelor's Degree in a related business or technical discipline, or equivalent experience in defence/security work or technical training.
  • Documented experience in project and operations management or relevant sectors.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with good judgment, diplomacy, communication, time management, and patience.
  • Proven leadership abilities in organizing and executing operational activities, including building industry teams and assessing win probability to develop business opportunities.
  • Developed social skills and a positive attitude, with the ability to communicate and interact effectively with people from diverse backgrounds.
  • Ability to develop team member competencies, perform goal setting, provide performance feedback, and support self-development activities.
  • Extensive understanding of standard business processes and the local business environment in assigned markets.
  • Maintain product knowledge in technical base specifications and commercial aspects to perform the duties of Site Manager for the Halifax office.
  • Well-developed written and presentation skills in English; proficiency in an additional language is preferred, though not essential.
  • Eligibility to meet requirements for Canadian government security clearances and Canadian controlled goods assessment.
