Job Title: Senior Data Analyst

We're seeking a Senior Data Analyst to join our team of innovators and disruptors in Calgary. As a Senior Data Analyst, you'll be responsible for translating business requirements and queries into actionable insights, developing business intelligence dashboards and reports, and working effectively with technical and non-technical teams.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and maintain business intelligence dashboards and reports for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Work with various technical and non-technical teams to understand business requirements and translate them into actionable insights.
  • Lead and mentor junior/intermediate data analysts.
  • Make business decisions independently and execute on deliverables in a self-reliant manner.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in a quantitative field, such as mathematics, statistics, physics, engineering, computer science, economics, or business analytics.
  • 5+ years of experience providing professional data analysis.
  • 3+ years of experience using Tableau for analytics.
  • Experience with SQL and other querying languages.
  • Comfortable with Linux environments, cloud computing (AWS preferred).
  • Comfortable with Python (preferred) or other scripting languages.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work well both independently and in a team environment with stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
Preferred Skills:
  • Graduate degree in a quantitative field.
  • Experience leading and mentoring others.
  • Working knowledge of the insurance industry.
  • Automation abilities for distributed and multi-tenant analytics/reporting.
  • Understanding of ETL and data engineering processes.
