Senior Data Analyst Opportunity

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Data Analyst to join our team at IFG International Financial Group Ltd. in Calgary, Alberta. This 12-month contract position offers a unique blend of on-site and remote work, with the possibility of extension.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Collaborate with subject matter experts to optimize reporting processes and develop innovative solutions.
  2. Design and maintain reporting logic using Databricks, ensuring seamless data integration and visualization.
  3. Automate standard reporting deliverables and explore self-serve options to enhance efficiency.
  4. Utilize PowerBI or Spotfire to create engaging and informative data visualizations.
  5. Develop standardized and ad-hoc reports to cater to diverse business needs.
  6. Ensure compliance with reporting standards and best practices.
  7. Train colleagues to independently manage reporting processes.
  8. Continuously enhance financial and operational data analysis to drive business growth.

Requirements:

  1. Minimum 8 years of experience in data science, analytics, with a focus on automation and tool development.
  2. Proven expertise in cloud data platforms, including Databricks.
  3. Experience working with Git and related tools, such as Gitlab and Github.
  4. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Statistics, or a related field.
  5. Strong programming skills in SQL and either R or Python.
  6. Experience with data visualization tools, including Power BI or Spotfire.
  7. Familiarity with Git and cloud data platforms like Databricks.

Preferred Qualifications:

  1. Master's degree in Data Science, Business Analytics, or a related field.
  2. Experience working with financial or operational data in the energy industry.
  3. Certification in relevant programming languages or data analytics tools.
