About the Job

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Carpenter to join our team at Hind BM Construction INC. As a Carpenter, you will be responsible for performing a variety of tasks related to the construction and maintenance of buildings and structures.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare layouts and designs in accordance with building codes and regulations, using measuring tools and equipment.
  • Measure, cut, shape, assemble, and join materials made of wood, wood substitutes, lightweight steel, and other materials to create building components.
  • Prepare tenders and quotations for clients and stakeholders, outlining costs and materials required for projects.
  • Build foundations, install floor beams, lay subflooring, and erect walls and roof systems to create safe and secure structures.
  • Fabricate and install windows, doors, stairs, mouldings, and hardware to complete building projects.
  • Schedule and coordinate work on sites, ensuring that projects are completed on time and within budget.
  • Conduct site surveys to assess building locations and levels, and make adjustments as necessary.
  • Instruct and train apprentices and junior staff members in carpentry techniques and best practices.
  • Supervise and manage other workers on site, ensuring that they are working safely and efficiently.
  • Estimate costs and materials required for projects, and make recommendations for cost-saving measures.
  • Operate computer-aided design (CAD) software and other computer systems to create designs and plans for building projects.
  • Maintain, repair, and renovate existing buildings and structures, including residences and wooden structures in various settings.
Requirements
  • 1-2 years of experience in carpentry or a related field.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Ability to work at heights and in confined spaces.
  • Physical stamina to perform manual labor for extended periods.
  • Excellent communication skills to work effectively with clients and team members.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Basic computer skills to operate CAD software and other computer systems.
