This is a seasonal position from September to June, working up to 24 hours per week at various city pools.

Responsibilities:

* Perform lifeguarding and instructing duties in a safe and enjoyable environment
* Maintain effective public relations and employ a tactful, polite, and helpful demeanor
* Ensure the cleanliness of the facility and maintain a high level of physical fitness
* Provide effective emergency response and execute proper rescue techniques
* Ensure all lifesaving equipment is checked, set out, and put away each day
* Participate in water demonstrations with enthusiasm and energy
* Establish a positive, respectful, and inclusive environment
* Model the rules of the facility with a positive attitude

Requirements:

* National Lifeguard certification
* Lifesaving Society Swim Instructor certification
* Lifesaving Society Lifesaving Instructor certification
* Standard First Aid and CPR C certification
* HIGH FIVE The Principles of Healthy Childhood Development certification
* Vulnerable Sector Police Clearance
* Must be at least 15 years of age
* Experience working in aquatics
* Professional and enthusiastic employee with a service-minded approach
* Willingness to work a variety of shifts, including days, evenings, weekends, and holidays
* Proven completion of Ministry of Labour Worker Health and Safety Awareness training

Compensation:

* Lifeguard Wage: $21.80
* Instructor Wage: $23.06

Location:

* Various City pools

Hours of Work:

* Up to 24 hours per week
