The Government of Alberta is seeking a highly skilled Operations Manager to join our team in the Lethbridge District Office. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for the day-to-day administration and delivery of the highway maintenance program and highway maintenance contractor performance management program specific to those roadways specified as provincial highways within the Lethbridge District boundaries.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the Operations Manager in delivering on the business goals of the Lethbridge Operations business unit, in a timely and professional manner.
  • Provide oversight of district operations & maintenance to ensure the continuity of a safe and efficient transportation network across the Lethbridge District.
  • Contribute to the development and update of programs such as: Highway Maintenance Program, Alberta Environment and Protected Area's Park Road Maintenance Program and the Regional Seal Coat Program.
  • Provide technical support to the Roadside Development and Control group as well as the Bridge, Construction and Infrastructure business units where applicable.
  • Preparation and contract administration for consulting, construction and maintenance contracts, as well as service agreements.
  • Communicate effectively while handling stakeholder inquiries and feedback, including preparing technical and non-technical review packages and responses for the Operations Manager's review.
  • Demonstrate advanced project management skills, including time management and fiscal responsibilities.

Requirements

  • Advanced degree in a relevant field such as engineering, business administration, or a related field.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in a related field, preferably in a government or public sector organization.
  • Proven track record of delivering results in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent communication and project management skills.
