Job Summary

Wood Leaf Trading Inc. is seeking a skilled Meat Cutter to join our team. As a Meat Cutter, you will be responsible for cutting, trimming, and preparing standard cuts of meat for sale in our retail and wholesale operations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Cut, trim, and prepare standard cuts of meat for sale
  • Wrap and package prepared meats for display and sale
  • Remove bones from meat to prepare for cutting and packaging
  • Weigh meats for sale and ensure accurate labeling
  • Grind meats for use in sausages and other products
  • Prepare special displays of meats, poultry, and fish products for sale
  • Cut beef, lamb, pork, or veal carcasses or sides or quarters of carcasses into primal cuts for further cutting, processing, or packaging
  • Maintain a clean and safe working environment, adhering to Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) regulations
Requirements
  • Secondary (high) school graduation certificate
  • Will train on the job
  • Manual cutting utensil experience
  • Sausage machine operation
  • Slicing machine operation
  • Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) regulations knowledge
Work Environment

This is a fast-paced environment that requires a combination of sitting, standing, and walking. You will be standing for extended periods and handling heavy loads. You must have attention to detail and be physically demanding.
