Job Title: Agile Equipment Specialist

As a key member of the Operations team at Johnson Electric Group, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our production equipment. Your primary responsibility will be to optimize and upgrade production equipment, continuously improving manufacturing cells to ensure long-term customer satisfaction, employee safety, and business economic success.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Collaborate with Maintenance, Manufacturing Engineering, and Design Services to optimize and upgrade production equipment.
  2. Work as a team member to complete the implementation of new or modified production machines in conjunction with new manufacturing projects.
  3. Ensure operational quality and efficiency targets are maintained.
  4. Implement safety protocols into each automation change.
  5. Maintain Quality Operating Systems with respect to equipment documentation and record retention as per ISO/IATF 16949 standards.
  6. Improve machine maintainability and reliability.
  7. Work in compliance with Johnson Electric FPS Quality, Safety & Environmental Operating Systems.
  8. Assist in materials acquisition and implementation and inventory control for all machine wears and spares.
  9. Implement Automotive Operating Systems including APQP, PPAP, and QOS as per ISO/IATF 16949 Standards as they relate to Facilities Engineering.
  10. Develop PLC and motion-based machine logic programs.
  11. Complete run at rate process performance testing in conjunction with manufacturing operations.
  12. Provide ongoing support for Operations, Quality, and Facilities management with respect to ongoing process continuous improvement.
Requirements:
  1. A technical diploma in engineering technology or an appropriate combination of education and relevant experience.
  2. Hands-on technical skills with respect to Mechanical Assembly, Machine Repair, Electrical Systems, Hydraulic Systems, Pneumatic Systems, PLC, and CNC-based control and logic systems.
  3. 5+ years of experience in the hands-on repair and maintenance of CNC machining and automated assembly applications in a high-volume manufacturing environment.
  4. Understanding of automotive systems and quality requirements based on ISO/IATF 16949 operating systems.
  5. Excellent communications, negotiating, conflict management, and problem-solving skills.
  6. Ability to interact effectively at all levels of the organization.
  7. Ability to redesign/engineer machine components necessary to improve equipment performance.
  8. Proficiency in related software.
  9. Capability to specify and source materials and equipment to best suit requirements.
  10. Familiarity with Fanuc controls and robotics and the programming of same.
