About the Program

The National Research Council Canada Indigenous Student Employment Program provides students with practical career-related experience in various fields, including research and development, engineering, and technology. As a student in this program, you will have the opportunity to work on leading-edge projects, gain valuable work experience, and develop your skills in a creative and diverse environment.

Eligibility

To be eligible for the program, you must:

  • Self-declare as an Indigenous person (First Nations, Métis, or Inuit)
  • Have obtained a High School diploma (or grade 12 equivalent)
  • Be studying at a recognized educational institution and returning to full-time studies in the next semester
Application Requirements

  • Most recent transcript: University/College/High school (grade 12 or equivalent)
  • Self-declare as an Indigenous person in your application
Compensation

Students in this program will receive a salary of $600 to $1299 per week (37.5 hours), determined based on the number of academic semesters completed.
