Job SummaryThe Senior Project Specialist will support Project Managers and Project Control Specialists in project set-up and kick-off activities to ensure alignment with Westinghouse's Project Management Office (PMO) governance and best practices. This role will provide leadership and support throughout the life of the projects for re-baselining, data checks, and internal compliance audits, as well as consolidated portfolio-level reporting and monitoring.
Key Responsibilities- Assist Project Managers in project set-up and kick-off to align with WEC PMO governance
- Work with Project Managers to develop initial project schedule, lead resource loading, and project baselining activities
- Support project re-baselining as required throughout the project
- Ensure project WBS alignment between SAP cost and P6 schedule and data accuracy to support project EVM
- Conduct periodic project audits to ensure compliance to procedures and identify areas for improvement
- Recommend and support corrective actions and lessons learned implementation to improve overall portfolio performance
- Support development of procedures and standard practice for project cost-schedule integration
- Generate consolidated weekly schedule lookahead reports to support alignment with cross-functional department resource planning
- Prepare regular schedule compliance reports to monitor trending for missed tasks/delays
- Occasional travel to company locations to interface with onsite staff
- Bachelor's degree in Business or Engineering
- 8+ years of experience in Project Controls and/or Project Management, with a preference for Canadian Nuclear Industry experience
- PMP certification is an asset but not required
- Experience in Primavera (P6) scheduling
- Experience in Earned Value Management
- Strong organizational skills
- Project management experience
- Experience in developing processes and procedures
- SAP or other enterprise software experience
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Aptitude towards a fast-paced work environment and decision-making
