We are currently seeking a Sustainability Compliance Specialist to join our team. This position plays a crucial role in assisting the Environmental Manager to ensure that our policies and initiatives comply with all applicable environmental regulations. The successful candidate will engage in hands-on activities including reporting, field sampling, site evaluations, audits, and providing recommendations for enhancing our environmental programs across all divisions.
Compensation: Annual base salary range $60,000 - $75,000.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assist in maintaining company policies and programs to ensure compliance with local, provincial, and federal environmental regulations.
- Collaborate with facilities across Western Canada to ensure adherence to environmental standards and procedures.
- Manage environmental certification programs, including Green Marine, Climate Smart, and ISO 14001.
- Conduct data collection and analysis through hands-on sampling of soil, wastewater, and other materials.
- Prepare reports on air quality, wastewater treatment, greenhouse gas emissions, and other relevant metrics.
- Provide insights and recommendations for operational improvements related to environmental standards.
- Review and update environmental policies and procedural manuals.
- Coordinate new projects aimed at obtaining environmental certifications and enhancing sustainability practices.
- Travel to various plant locations for audits and assessments.
- Adhere to the company Code of Conduct and all organizational policies.
- Promote a positive workplace culture by fostering respect and alignment with company values.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by management.
THE IDEAL CANDIDATE:
- Possesses a degree in Environmental Technology or a related field from a recognized institution.
- Holds certifications in Power Engineering, Wastewater Treatment Plant/Utility Operations, or similar areas.
- Has a minimum of 4-5 years of relevant experience in a professional setting.
- Demonstrates familiarity with mechanical and industrial equipment, control systems, and tools.
- Exhibits knowledge of field testing, sample collection, and regulatory reporting.
- Is willing to travel to various divisions in Western Canada and the USA.
- Displays proficiency in English, both written and verbal, with strong communication skills.
- Shows a willingness to learn about industrial operations and production processes.
- Is proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Can interpret diagrams and manuals to determine work procedures.
- Has experience leading projects and coordinating initiatives across teams.
- Possesses strong interpersonal skills and the ability to collaborate effectively.
- Demonstrates adaptability and problem-solving abilities.
- Can effectively prioritize and organize work to meet deadlines.
- Is adaptable to working conditions in an industrial environment.
