RhynoCare is seeking a skilled Registered Nurse to join our team in the West Vancouver area. As a Registered Nurse, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality nursing care to our residents.
Key Responsibilities- Provide Nursing Care: Deliver nursing care in accordance with established policy, physician's orders, and the resident plan of care, within the scope of practice of an RN.
- Utilize Sound Nursing Practice: Ensure the delivery of excellent nursing and personal care in the assigned home area(s) by utilizing sound nursing practice principles.
- Ensure Timely Admissions: Ensure timely and accessible admissions for residents, including a comprehensive orientation to the home and the services offered within the home.
- Responsible for Resident Transfers: Ensure that resident transfers and discharges are timely and safe.
- Manage Medications: Ensure the supply, control, and safekeeping of drugs and narcotics, and ensure protocols are followed on all assigned shifts.
- Assess, Plan, Implement, and Evaluate: Responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating nursing care to meet the physical, psychological, emotional, spiritual, cultural, and social needs of the residents.
- Education: Bachelor of Science – Nursing (BScN), Bachelor of Nursing (BN), or equivalent.
- Registration: Current registration as a Registered Nurse with the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives.
- Certifications: Current Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification, valid First Aid and CPR Certificate.
- Communication Skills: Strong written and verbal English communication skills.
- Interpersonal Skills: Deals with others in an effective, compassionate, and supportive manner.
- Knowledge: Knowledge of the Long Term Care Act, Program Standards for Long Term Care, the appropriate sections of the Health Disciplines Act, Occupation Health and Safety Act, Pharmacy Act, Food and Drugs Act (Canada), Narcotic Control Act (Canada), Coroners Act, British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives Standards of Practice, and other pertinent Federal, Provincial, and Municipal Statutes which influence the operation of the Nursing Home and more specifically the nursing department.
- Clearance: Medical Clearance (including but not limited to TB tests), Vulnerable Sector Police Check and/or Adult Abuse Registry Check, Clear Criminal Record check.
