We are currently in search of a dedicated and skilled Cook to become a part of our culinary team. In this role, you will play a vital part in fulfilling the nutritional needs of residents by preparing appetizing and healthy meals. Working closely with the dietary team, you will assist in menu planning, meal preparation, and maintaining a hygienic kitchen atmosphere.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare healthy meals in accordance with dietary guidelines and menu specifications
  • Ensure meals are served promptly and appropriately
  • Assist in meal service while respecting residents' food preferences
  • Comply with food safety and sanitation standards
  • Collaborate with dietary staff on menu creation
  • Help manage food costs, minimize waste, and oversee ordering
  • Maintain food inventory and supervise supply orders
  • Adhere to all health and safety regulations
  • Keep the kitchen organized and clean
  • Support special events and catering as required
Qualifications
  • Completion or enrollment in a Food Service Worker Program
  • Chef/Cook Certification is preferred
  • Valid Food Handler's Certificate is mandatory
  • Experience in preparing meals for seniors or in a healthcare environment is preferred
  • Recent Vulnerable Sector Check is necessary
  • Proof of COVID-19 vaccination is required
