The Clinical Supervisor, Occupational Therapy is a key member of the Fraser Health team, responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of occupational therapy services. This role requires a strong clinical background, excellent leadership skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with various stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities- Supervise and coordinate the work of occupational therapy staff, ensuring optimal use of resources and meeting operational requirements.
- Develop and implement clinical practice guidelines, policies, and procedures to ensure high-quality patient care.
- Collaborate with the Clinical Practice Leader to develop and manage budgets, monitor expenditures, and make recommendations for improvement.
- Provide clinical guidance and support to staff, including performance evaluations and coaching.
- Participate in quality and safety initiatives, monitoring the impact of clinical practice changes and providing recommendations for improvement.
- Contribute to the development of the occupational therapy profession through participation in practice councils and committees.
- Carry a clinical caseload as required, assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating treatment for assigned patients.
- Current full registration with the College of Occupational Therapists of British Columbia (COTBC).
- Three years' recent and relevant occupational therapy experience, including one year of supervisory experience.
- Comprehensive knowledge of occupational therapy theory and practice within a patient and family-centered model of care.
- Ability to supervise, provide work direction, and guidance to others, and provide effective performance evaluation.
- Ability to allocate staff assignments to meet program requirements using available resources.
- Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
- Ability to teach, coach, provide, and coordinate staff and student education and orientation.
- Ability to prioritize, problem-solve, coordinate workflow, and carry a clinical caseload as required.
- Ability to monitor operating and capital budgets.
