We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Sustainability Engineer to join our team at JobContax. As a key member of our engineering consultancy, you will play a crucial role in reducing the environmental impact of buildings.
Job Responsibilities- Utilize IES VE to create thermal models and simulations for various building projects, ensuring compliance with Building Regulations Part L.
- Produce energy calculations, heating analysis, and generate building thermal loads to optimize energy efficiency.
- Collaborate with our design team to develop technically accurate work and provide effective liaison with clients and stakeholders.
- Conduct non-domestic BER assessments and BER upgrade reports to achieve A or B rated buildings.
- Provide expert advice on Part L and NZEB requirements for our projects.
- Perform energy audits (SI 426) and conduct site inspections to identify energy-saving opportunities.
- Design energy retrofit systems to minimize environmental impact.
- Work with IES Virtual Environment for daylighting, glint, and glare analysis.
- Assess building services equipment, including HVAC systems, electrical systems, and controls systems.
- 3+ years of experience in a relevant field, preferably with a mechanical or sustainability background.
- Proficiency in thermal modeling using IES VE, with a solid understanding of MEP services and current Building Regulations.
- Ability to carry out IES thermal modeling, sustainability, mechanical, and IES VE heat loads energy calculations.
- Experience with cost estimates for renewable energy systems and familiarity with tender documentation preparation.
- Up-to-date knowledge of energy upgrade projects and best practices (such as IPMVP).
