Power Engineer

Fraser Health is seeking a skilled Power Engineer to join our team at Surrey Memorial Hospital in Surrey, British Columbia. As a Power Engineer, you will be responsible for operating and maintaining a variety of computerized building automated systems, including HVAC systems, emergency power systems, and other utilities.
Key Responsibilities- Operate and maintain computerized building automated systems, analyzing and revising existing applications to achieve desired results.
- Perform preventative maintenance on computerized building automated systems, testing, calibrating, and replacing parts as required.
- Respond to service and emergency calls, performing repairs and adjustments as necessary.
- Monitor information provided by computerized building automation systems to ensure HVAC systems and other equipment are functioning correctly.
- Operate steam and heating boilers/air conditioning systems, starting up and shutting down boilers and related pumps, fans, air compressors, and chillers.
- Monitor and adjust temperature control systems, pressure, and feed water levels, recording meter and gauge readings to ensure distribution of steam/air heating to designated areas.
- Inspect mechanical rooms and areas to ensure all equipment is operating safely and efficiently, recording readings, abnormalities, and other pertinent information on appropriate log sheets.
- Test and maintain auxiliary power generators, repairing/adjusting as required.
- Perform analysis on boiler systems, including combustion analysis, water treatment analysis, and steam efficiency analysis.
- Assign work tasks to designated staff, providing related training and orientation as necessary.
Certificate of competency as a 3rd Class Power Engineer recognized by the Province of B.C.
Four years' recent related experience or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
Ability to deal with others effectively.
Ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications.
Physical ability to carry out the duties of the position.
Ability to operate related equipment.
