Job Summary

Brandt is seeking a skilled Resident Heavy Equipment Technician to join our team in the Slave Lake and surrounding area, reporting to our Edmonton Construction & Forestry branch. This role is responsible for the repair and maintenance of construction and forestry-based equipment and attachments.

Key Responsibilities
  • Evaluate and diagnose the working condition of heavy duty equipment, assemble/disassemble, order parts, and perform repairs efficiently and effectively.
  • Use secondary materials and equipment safely and efficiently, and operate related instruments, hand and power tools, secondary equipment, and computer systems.
  • Accurately document on work orders all machine information, actions taken, and time taken, and continually assess service task hazards to ensure work is performed safely and to accepted standards.
  • Utilize computer applications and information systems, such as John Deere Service Advisor, to document maintenance, inspection, and diagnosis, and use parts catalogues to locate parts and order from parts personnel.
  • Road test equipment and check attachment operation as required.
Requirements
  • Ability to communicate and work effectively with customers, the service team, and branch personnel.
  • Meet physical demands, including climbing, overhead lifting/postures, prolonged standing, sensory processing, and fine motor control.
  • Lift up to 50 pounds.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Previous mechanical experience in a heavy equipment environment.
  • Certified Journeyperson in the Heavy Duty Equipment technician trade or equivalent designated trade.
  • Commitment to customer service and service excellence.
