We are seeking a skilled Licensed Practical Nurse to join our team at the Cree Board of Health and Social Services of James Bay (CBHSSJB). As a key member of our healthcare team, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care and support.
Key Responsibilities- Collaborate with the care team to assess patients' health and develop personalized care plans.
- Provide nursing and wellness support, as well as medical care and treatment to maintain health, restore health, and prevent disease.
- Work closely with nurses, beneficiary attendants, physicians, and other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive patient care.
- Collect and analyze patient data to inform care decisions and improve health outcomes.
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians, and provide basic care for hygiene and comfort.
- Monitor patients' vital signs and report any changes in their health status to the care team.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare professionals to ensure seamless care coordination.
- Diploma of Vocational Studies (DVS) in Health, Assistance, and Nursing from a recognized school.
- Experience in internal medicine, geriatrics, and pediatrics is an asset.
- Knowledge of the Cree culture, language, and social/health issues in Eeyou Istchee is an asset.
- Good observation skills and self-control.
- Fluency in English; fluency in Cree and French is an asset.
