Position Overview

Chrima Iron Work Ltd. is seeking a dedicated Skilled Welder to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in welding and metal fabrication, contributing to our projects with precision and expertise.

Qualifications
  • Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate
  • Experience: 1 year to less than 2 years in a welding environment
Work Environment

The role is set in an industrial and urban area, where safety and efficiency are paramount.

Key Responsibilities
  • Interpret and apply welding process specifications accurately.
  • Operate manual, semi-automatic, and fully automated welding equipment.
  • Read and interpret welding blueprints, drawings, specifications, manuals, and processes.
  • Examine welds to ensure compliance with standards and specifications.
  • Utilize manual or semi-automatic flame-cutting equipment effectively.
  • Fit, braze, and torch-straighten metal components.
  • Operate oxygen arc cutting equipment (arc-air).
  • Handle hoisting and lifting equipment as required.
  • Utilize previously set-up welding machines for fabricating or repairing metal parts and products.
  • Perform minor repairs and maintenance on welding, brazing, and soldering equipment.
Materials and Techniques

The successful candidate will work with various materials, including:

  • Aluminum alloys
  • Stainless steel
  • Steel, iron, and heavy metals

Proficiency in the following welding techniques is essential:

  • Resistance, spot, or seam welding
  • Shielded metal arc welding (SMAW)
  • Gas tungsten arc welding (GTAW) (TIG)
  • Gas metal arc welding (GMAW)
  • Automated welding processes
  • Stud welding
  • Laser welding
Equipment Proficiency

Experience with the following equipment is required:

  • Arc welding machine
  • Gas welding machine
  • Spot welding machine
Physical Requirements

The role involves handling weights of up to 23 kg (50 lbs).

Tools and Equipment

Applicants must possess their own welding helmet.

Employment Details

This is a permanent position with a standard work schedule of 40 hours per week. The working language is English.
