Position Overview

Chrima Iron Work Ltd. is seeking a dedicated Skilled Welder to join our team. This role involves working with various metals and utilizing advanced welding techniques to ensure high-quality fabrication and repair of metal components.

Qualifications
  • Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate
  • Experience: 1 year to less than 2 years in a welding or metal fabrication environment
Work Environment

The successful candidate will work in an industrial setting, primarily in an urban area.

Key Responsibilities
  • Interpret and apply welding process specifications
  • Operate manual, semi-automatic, and fully automated welding equipment
  • Read and understand welding blueprints, drawings, specifications, manuals, and processes
  • Examine welds to ensure compliance with standards and specifications
  • Utilize manual or semi-automatic flame-cutting equipment
  • Fit, braze, and torch-straighten metal components
  • Operate oxygen arc cutting equipment
  • Handle hoisting and lifting equipment
  • Utilize previously set-up welding machines for fabrication or repair
  • Perform minor repairs and maintenance on welding, brazing, and soldering equipment
Materials and Techniques

The position requires proficiency in working with:

  • Aluminum alloys
  • Stainless steel
  • Steel, iron, and heavy metals

Familiarity with various welding techniques, including:

  • Resistance, spot, or seam welding
  • Shielded metal arc welding (SMAW)
  • Gas tungsten arc welding (GTAW) (TIG)
  • Gas metal arc welding (GMAW)
  • Automated and stud welding
  • Laser welding
Equipment Proficiency

Experience with the following equipment is essential:

  • Arc welding machine
  • Gas welding machine
  • Spot welding machine
Physical Requirements

The role involves handling weights of up to 23 kg (50 lbs).

Tools and Equipment

Candidates must possess their own welding helmet.

Employment Type

This is a permanent position with a standard work schedule of 40 hours per week.

Language Requirements

The primary language of work is English.
