Job Title: Respiratory Therapist

We are seeking a skilled Respiratory Therapist to join our team at the Winnipeg Regional Health Authority. As a Respiratory Therapist, you will play a critical role in providing therapeutic, diagnostic, and technical respiratory care services to patients.

Job Summary:

The Respiratory Therapist will work under the general supervision of the Manager to provide respiratory care services to patients in various settings. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in respiratory therapy, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work effectively in a team environment.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide therapeutic, diagnostic, and technical respiratory care services to patients
  • Conduct assessments and develop treatment plans for patients with respiratory conditions
  • Operate and maintain respiratory equipment, including ventilators and oxygen therapy devices
  • Collaborate with healthcare teams to provide comprehensive patient care
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient outcomes
Requirements:
  • Current registration with the Manitoba Association of Respiratory Therapists (MARRT)
  • Experience in respiratory therapy, preferably in a critical care setting
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment
  • Knowledge of respiratory therapy principles and practices
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with critical care ventilators and oxygen therapy devices
  • Knowledge of pediatric and neonatal respiratory care
  • Ability to work independently and make decisions in a fast-paced environment
