Job Summary

Alberta Health Services is seeking a highly skilled Cardiologist to establish a full-time general practice in the community of Red Deer. The successful candidate will provide a full range of cardiovascular diagnosis, treatment plans, and options, working collaboratively with other physicians to ensure excellent patient care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Reside in and have a primary residence within the community of Red Deer;
  • Obtain and maintain a Medical Staff Appointment and appropriate privileges to provide services;
  • Abide by Medical Staff Bylaws, Rules, and policies;
  • Establish and maintain a full-time community-based practice within the community;
  • Provide call assistance as per call schedules, including full-time participation in the Cardiology call schedule, as required;
  • Participate in quality improvement programs and initiatives undertaken within the Zone Clinical Department of Internal Medicine;
  • Participate in relevant Continuing Medical Education (CME) programs;
  • Contribute to and participate in other administrative responsibilities, as assigned;
  • Work collaboratively with peers and care team colleagues in support of patient care.
Minimum Requirements
  • Have or be eligible for licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Alberta (required with application);
  • Have or be eligible for certification with the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada Certification (RCPSC);
  • Have specialty certification or equivalent in Cardiology, or be currently enrolled in a Cardiology Residency Program;
  • Recent and relevant experience in all areas of practice required, as the Most Responsible Physician.
Desired Qualifications

Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS).
