About the Position
As a member of the FPGA Design team, you will engage in the new product introduction (NPI) design process, utilizing advanced digital design methodologies primarily focused on FPGA technology. Your responsibilities will include:
- Developing FPGA designs using VHDL programming language.
- Conducting simulations of your designs with Questa Sim.
- Employing Xilinx design tools for synthesis, implementation, debugging, and achieving timing closure.
- Collaborating with the Verification Team as needed.
- Integrating library modules into larger FPGA designs.
- Testing and debugging in hardware environments.
- Participating in regular design reviews and presenting FPGA status updates during NPI project meetings.
- Supporting product sustaining operations and generating high-quality documentation.
- Adhering to departmental practices and coding standards.
- Contributing to team knowledge by sharing insights and lessons learned.
- Engaging in company training and educational events as required.
- Proposing and participating in continuous innovation initiatives.
- Completing additional tasks as assigned by management.

Preferred Qualifications
Additional skills that would be advantageous include:
- Experience with Matlab for algorithm development.
- Knowledge of Digital Signal Processing techniques.
- Familiarity with Digital or Analog Video systems.
- Experience with DO254 or other safety-critical processes.
Minimum Requirements
Applicants must meet the requirements of the Canadian Controlled Goods Registration Program and be eligible for a Canadian government security clearance.
Educational Background
A Bachelor's Degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering or a related field, with a minimum of 6 years of relevant experience, or a Graduate Degree with at least 4 years of relevant experience. Alternatively, candidates with a minimum of 10 years of relevant experience in lieu of a degree will be considered. Experience in FPGA design is a plus.
