Position Overview

Qualifications
  • Education: Completion of a trades certificate or diploma in massage therapy.

Work Environment

The position is based in a private practice setting, offering a serene atmosphere for both therapists and clients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to create effective treatment plans tailored to individual client needs.
  • Utilize various massage techniques, including soft tissue manipulation, relaxation methods, hydrotherapy, trigger point therapy, and joint mobilizations.
  • Apply targeted pressure to specific areas of the body to alleviate discomfort.
  • Conduct assessments through range of motion and muscle testing to determine appropriate treatment strategies.
  • Communicate clearly with clients regarding procedures, potential risks, and benefits associated with treatments.
  • Maintain accurate records of all treatments administered.
  • Perform massage and kneading techniques to enhance client well-being.
  • Provide clients with home care instructions and information about self-care techniques.
Certifications and Licenses

Must hold certification from a recognized provincial or territorial association for massage therapists.

Safety and Security

A basic security clearance is required for this position.

  • Ability to perform manual tasks with dexterity.
  • Must be able to meet the physical demands of the job, including standing for extended periods and performing repetitive tasks.
