Purchasing Coordinator

Job Summary

Clark Ag Systems, a family-owned business based in Caledonia, Ontario, is seeking a skilled Purchasing Coordinator to join our team. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for managing the procurement process, ensuring timely and cost-effective delivery of goods and services.

Key Responsibilities:

Purchasing

  • Create and manage purchase orders, including receiving and closing orders, and investigating any discrepancies.
  • Process order confirmations, expedite deliveries, and resolve any delays or issues.
  • Accrue freight and brokerage charges as needed.
  • Develop and maintain files for purchasing, supplier price lists, and product specifications.
  • Coordinate logistics, including customs clearance and freight management.

Inventory Management

  • Create, edit, and deactivate product code information in the MRP software, including costing updates.
  • Maintain KIT bill of materials and costing.
  • Regularly review obsolete and slow-moving reports to clear inventory.
  • Provide purchasing planning and control information by analyzing and summarizing MRP data and trends.
  • Review weekly gross margin exception reports, investigate discrepancies, and process required changes.

Vendor Management

  • Work closely with the General Manager to update active vendor lists, negotiated discounts, price increases, and alternate sources of supply.

Other Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the Returns Material Authorization process.
  • Ensure adherence to all safety rules, policies, and procedures.
  • Perform other duties as required.

Requirements:

  • Knowledge of/experience with parts reference sources and materials, such as manufacturer manuals.
  • Familiarity with MS Office applications and MRP application systems.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize in a fast-paced environment.
  • Reliable, responsible, and punctual.
  • Critical thinking and analytical skills.
  • Customer service skills.
