Purchasing Coordinator

Job Overview

The Clark Companies is seeking a detail-oriented Purchasing Coordinator to join our team. As a key member of our operations department, you will be responsible for coordinating and managing the procurement of goods and services.

Key Responsibilities

• 
  
• Create, edit, and close purchase orders for all stock and non-stock inventory
  
• Process order confirmations, expedite deliveries, and investigate any delays or discrepancies
  
• Accrue freight and brokerage charges as needed
  
• Manage purchasing files, supplier price lists, and product specifications
  
• Coordinate logistics, including customs clearance and freight management
  

Inventory Management

• 
  
• Update product code information in our MRP software, including costing
  
• Maintain KIT bill of materials and costing
  
• Review obsolete and slow-moving reports to clear inventory
  
• Analyze and summarize MRP data and trends to inform purchasing decisions
  
• Review weekly gross margin exception reports and investigate discrepancies
  
• Communicate with manufacturers and suppliers to ensure project timelines, equipment quantities, and quality are maintained
  

Vendor Management

• 
  
• Work with the General Manager to update active vendor lists, negotiated discounts, price increases, and alternate sources of supply
  

Additional Responsibilities

• 
  
• Oversee the Returns Material Authorization process
  
• Ensure adherence to MSDS protocols and procedures
  
• Maintain a safe working environment by adhering to all safety rules, policies, and procedures
  

Requirements

• 
  
• Knowledge of/experience with parts reference sources and materials, such as manufacturer manuals
  
• Familiarity with MS Office applications and MRP systems
  
• Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize in a fast-paced environment
  
• Reliable, responsible, and punctual
  
• Critical thinking and analytical skills
  
• Excellent customer service skills
