As a Quality Assurance Software Tester at Thermo Fisher Scientific, you will engage with cutting-edge laboratory automation technologies. Your role will be pivotal in enhancing the efficiency and precision of scientific research on a global scale, contributing to a positive impact in the scientific community.

Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with software developers to comprehend customer needs and formulate test cases.
  • Execute test cases for software drivers of varying complexities.
  • Propose insightful ideas for process enhancements.
  • Learn to operate scientific instruments effectively.
  • Document and summarize test execution results.
  • Participate in the execution of automated testing procedures.
Qualifications:

To thrive in this position, you should possess:

Education:
  • A Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science, Physical Sciences, Engineering, or equivalent experience.
Experience:
  • A minimum of 4 years in software development or testing within an industrial or commercial setting.
Skills and Abilities:
  • Strong written and verbal communication capabilities.
  • Ability to interpret agile stories and convert them into actionable test cases.
  • Proficiency in generating test plans, cases, and steps for moderately complex product features.
  • Capacity to collaborate effectively in a project-driven environment.
  • Skill in managing multiple tasks while adhering to project timelines.
  • Familiarity with QA metrics, various MS Windows operating systems, and contemporary computer technologies.
  • Experience with automated testing tools and knowledge of programming or scripting languages.
  • Basic proficiency in MS Office applications.
  • Experience with bug tracking systems, such as Microsoft's Visual Studio 2017 Team System.
  • Understanding of testing methodologies and practices.
  • Demonstration of Thermo Fisher Scientific values: Integrity, Intensity, Innovation, and Involvement.
  • Experience with automated testing tools, including C# and Coded UI.
  • Familiarity with web services and XML.
