Data Governance Supervisor Job Description

RSM is seeking a highly skilled Data Governance Supervisor to provide guidance on the implementation of a data governance framework, including oversight, master data management, and data governance workflows.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement an enterprise-wide data governance framework, focusing on data quality, synchronization, and standardization through processes, data monitoring, data remediation, training, and documentation.
  • Manage, define, and maintain roles for a data governance organization, including identifying data stewards, data owners, and technical stewards.
  • Collaborate with functional data owners and IT data owners to understand needed enhancements to integrations or data transformations.
  • Develop and maintain a data dictionary, glossary, and process documentation.
  • Own and drive a detailed communication plan, including regular meetings with key data stakeholders and leadership.
  • Create or enhance data visibility through analytics dashboards, key KPIs, and other metrics and measurements.
  • Develop and monitor processes to track data requests, reporting needs, and serve as a point of contact.
  • Work with IT to develop and maintain a data inventory in the analytics warehouse.
  • Develop, maintain, and oversee data reconciliation processes to ensure consistency and reliability.
  • Collaborate with IT leadership to ensure proper controls are being managed and reviewed for all data integrations.
  • Provide project management oversight for the implementation of data strategy and governance projects.
  • Own the single source of truth conceptual model in the data warehouse and ensure all enrichments adhere to the model design principles.
  • Collaborate with IT to ensure privacy/security and access to data is properly aligned to organizational standards.
  • Provide thought leadership and support executive decision making around the use of data, setting enterprise standards, and enforcing data governance policies.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business Administration, Engineering, Data Analytics, or Data Science.
  • 7+ years of experience in the professional services industry.
  • 5+ years of experience working with data management practices around data quality, data integration, master data management, and metadata management.
  • 3+ years of enterprise-level project management experience.
  • Knowledge of data governance frameworks or ability to implement data strategies across disparate data systems.
  • Hands-on experience with at least one data governance tool.
  • Experience with end-to-end MDM implementation.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Hands-on experience leveraging data governance tools and technologies.
  • Experience with implementing data modeling concepts, semantic layer, star schema, data normalization.
  • Proven record of managing relationships with senior client stakeholders and technology partners.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Professional training, certifications, or qualifications in Data Governance tools.
  • Active participation in local industry associations in the domain of data management or governance.
  • Strong understanding of some regulatory compliance standards.
  • Strong understanding of data warehousing principles, data modeling techniques, and ETL processes.

RSM offers a competitive benefits and compensation package for all our people, including a compensation range of $86,500 - $147,000 and a discretionary bonus based on firm and individual performance.
