The data governance analyst plays a crucial role in assisting the Institute by addressing data-related challenges across various departments with diligence and commitment. Our ideal candidate is eager to learn about data governance and is dedicated to enhancing their skill set to contribute to the development of the Institute's data governance framework. Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborating with functional teams and colleagues to gather insights and analyze data challenges, developing and facilitating remediation strategies as necessary.
  • Documenting, monitoring, and tracking data issues, standards, and evolving processes for effective data management.
  • Assisting in the creation and delivery of data governance training and awareness programs for data stewardship functions and users within the Institute.
  • Contributing to the development, maintenance, and administration of NAIT's data catalog, business glossary, and related tools.
  • Working alongside business and IT staff to obtain data definitions and related information, including classification.
  • Providing guidance on records management and data lifecycle principles.
  • Collaborating with relevant business and IT stakeholders (including Legal and IT Security) to ensure compliance with NAIT's data policies and procedures.

  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to collaborate and influence stakeholders at various levels across the organization.
  • Strong facilitation and negotiation skills.
  • Proficient in solving complex problems.
  • Self-motivated, organized, and analytical mindset.
  • Keen interest in learning about NAIT's business departments.
  • Excellent documentation and reporting capabilities.
  • Familiarity with data governance concepts and frameworks, such as DMBoK and non-invasive data governance.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, information science, or a related field.
  • Experience in data management disciplines.
  • CDMP or equivalent certification is an asset.

Remuneration: $79,105,715.48 annually, along with a comprehensive benefits package.
